A
new report released showed a rise in American factories orders
for big-ticket goods.
After a sharp fall in the previous month, the manufactures
have begun to recover.
The
Commerce Department reported that the rise in orders came
after a 1.1 percent drop in January.
The majority of the decline was the result of the low demand
for commercial airplanes.
The pick-up in February was a result of the bounce back in
orders for commercial airplanes and parts.
Without
including the widely swinging orders for transportation equipment,
durable good orders dropped by .2 percent, the first drop
since last November.
In the manufacturing report, the 0.3 percent rise in overall
orders for big-ticket goods in February was weaker than some
analysts were expecting.
Economists
are now looking to determine how the rising inflation will
affect different parts of businesses.
