Sonoco Named One of the Best Places to Work
In Information Technology in the U.S.

"We are very pleased to again be part of Computerworld's prestigious list," said Bernie Campbell, vice president and chief information officer. "In my 34 years working in IT, I have not seen another company quite like Sonoco. The Company offers IT professionals a unique opportunity to work for a Fortune 1000 company headquartered for 103 years in a small, southern town. The combination of such a long standing company with its forward thinking management team keeps Sonoco at the forefront of IT. "
This year, Sonoco ranked 94 on the list. Sonoco has been included in the top 100 for four years. During the nine years Computerworld has conducted the survey, Sonoco's cumulative ranking is 65.

The survey measures factors that directly relate to benefits an IT professional would receive in a particular environment. Participants are surveyed on employee career development, benefits, retention, diversity, training and hot projects. Some of the benefits IT employees enjoy at Sonoco include extensive training, retention bonuses, interfacing with a global staff and a sense of control over their projects as well as their career paths. "It is an honor that Sonoco is recognized for its IT staffing approach by Computerworld. These benefits are important to attracting top IT staff to Sonoco from across the United States, Europe and Asia, and keep our staff turnover low," Campbell concluded.
