NewsEmployeeScreenIQ, a leading global provider of background screening services, has recently announced a new educational webinar that gives employers the upper hand in conducting background checks  on their job applicants. Entitled, “Your Applicants Have Something to Hide: Why You’re Not Finding It,” the free web event is open to all and has been pre-approved by the HR Certification Institute to grant attending participants one general recertification credit.

Led by Jason B. Morris, EmployeeScreenIQ President and Chief Operating Officer, and Nick Fishman, Chief Marketing Officer, the webinar will provide a thorough review of effective screening, and reveal how mastery of this process can lead to better hires.

“Horror stories about mistaken background checks have become commonplace,” said Morris. “Employers spend a lot of time, money and effort identifying the perfect candidate for each position. A background screening provider shouldn’t jeopardize an employer’s hard work.”

Attendants will gain a significant understanding of the criminal records system and learn about the various methods of performing research, whether through in-person county searches, clerk run searches, National Criminal Record Database searches, or social media checks. The differences between federal searches, statewide searches, and the FBI’s fingerprint database will also be explained.

Additional topics will include:

  • How taking “shortcuts” that lead to compromised background checks
  • How companies can inadvertently hire violent criminals
  • How employers can maintain a positive candidate experience, even if negative results are revealed

Armed with this new intelligence from this webcast, employers will be more prepared to make the right hiring decisions. “Your Applicants Have Something to Hide: Why You’re Not Finding It,” will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM -2:00 PM EST. Registration for this free event can be found here.
