About
Scot W. Melland:
In
April 2001, the Board of Directors named Scot W. Melland President
and CEO of the Company. Melland succeeds Peter A. Derow, who
was named Vice Chairman of the Board.
An
experienced e-business Chief Executive, Melland has successfully
built and developed businesses in start-up, large and small
corporate environments. Most recently, Melland began in 1999
as President and CEO at Vcommerce Corporation. He grew the
company from an early stage start-up into a leading provider
of outsourced e-commerce infrastructure and services.
From
1996 to 1999, he was Senior Vice PresidentInteractive
Services for Cendant Corporation, where he was responsible
for five online businesses with revenues of over $85 million
and a team of 180 individuals in four locations. Previously,
he served as Vice President, Investments and Alliances for
Ameritech Development Corp., where he led business planning,
investments and alliances in the telecom, internet and multi-media
sectors.
Melland
began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company,
where he worked with clients to develop strategy and make
operational improvements in their core businesses.
He
has published an HBS Case Study in Negotiation Analysis, and
was nominated for Connecticut Entrepreneur of the Year in
2000.
Melland
holds a B.S. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania
and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
