1999 Jon took on the excitement and risk
of TopGrading his firm. Jon began by allowing
Brad Smart, the author, consultant and inventor
of TopGrading to start with him. Using the
widely known "A" talent bar which

TopGraded his corporate leadership group
from 19% to 61% "A" talent by
the end of 2001. Jon's programs and processes
allowed the employees to complete the assessments
in an empowering manner. Only 30% left the
company. A greater number were re-assigned
and quite thankful for the opportunity to
perform at the level of their competency
not above it.
7 of 8 HR managers were re-assigned. In
2002 Jon was acknowledged as the IACPR Outstanding
Individual for his contribution in the development
of talent and human resources management.
