About Jeff Hyman

Canal Street is my third innovation in the recruiting category. In 1996, I founded Career Central (later re-branded Cruel World, Inc.) which became one of the largest internet-recruiting companies. Cruel World was acquired by Spencer Stuart executive search.

I was then recruited to Heidrick & Struggles to turn around its ailing LeadersOnline internet business. I led the re-branding to "Heidrick & Struggles Management Search," and brought the business from a multi-million dollar loss to profitability within one year.

After creating the concept for Canal Street, I resigned from Heidrick about eight months ago to start this firm. Canal Street now consists of three talent agents, representing over three dozen executive clients. We're ramping rapidly and believe we're on to the 'next big thing' in recruiting.
