OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENT: Hal was one of
the first recruiters to manage recruitment
for a venture capital firm's portfolio companies.
In
1990, Hal was hired as recruiting managing
director by a venture capital firm to advise
their portfolio companies in management/executive
search. In this capacity, Hal demonstrated
the strategic value a recruiter brings to
clients, beyond the candidates they attract,
screen and present.
About
Harold D. Reiter
A law school graduate, Hal began his career
with Arcata Corporation as a corporate attorney
and member of the management staff. At the
time, Arcata was one of the country's largest
printers of books, magazines and catalogues.
A native of Oregon, Hal attended University
of Oregon and Lewis & Clark Law School,
and is a member of the Oregon and Connecticut
bars. Hal entered the search business in
1986 when he joined Korn/Ferry International,
where he was promoted to partner in 1988.
In 1990, Hal moved to Butler Capital Corporation,
a private equity firm with over 20 portfolio
companies, to serve as recruiting managing
director. As president and CEO of Herbert
Mines Associates(one of the top 20 Nationally
recognized retained search firms in the
U.S.), Hal specializes in CEO and board-level
searches for large public and privately
held retail and consumer product companies.
In addition, boards of directors and CEO's
regularly call on Hal to consult on succession
planning and compensation. Hal is currently
a board member of Rock Island Corporation
and a trustee of Greens Farms Academy in
Westport, Connecticut.
