The annual CareerXroads directory of online career development resources has become the industry bible for recruiting professionals in every sector, and the new 2002 edition is no exception.

Once again, authors Gerry Crispin and Mark Mehler have compiled the ultimate "Who's Who" in online recruiting and, as always, it features several articles from some of the industry's most respected names. Over 2,500 sites are listed in the CareerXroads index, including more than 600 newcomers. Also, over 200 sites that have gone out of business have been removed. More than 500 sites get the full review treatment.

Each site review features a breakdown of fees and other valuable statistics, such as the number of resumes and jobs the site provides, as well as information on career specialties when applicable. Contact information is also listed.

The new edition features a variety of articles focusing on industry trends, views, and advice. Articles are geared toward recruiting professionals and job seekers alike. For example, job seekers will want to read "Getting Results with Your Online Resumes" by Glenn Gutmacher and "Creating Byte-Able Resumes for Electronic Job Searching" by Michelle Dumas.

Recruiters themselves will be more interested in "How to Purchase a Hosting Service for your Corporate Website Job Pages" by Michael Forrest and "Metrics and the Metrics Driven Staffing Model of Staffing.org" by Steve LaMotta.
Other contributors include Dr. John Sullivan, Brett Hollander, and Ed Struzik.

As always, Mehler and Crispin also ante up--this time with their engaging piece "Staffing 2011: How Talent and Opportunity Connect." The article is an imaginative account of how a job seeker overcomes the challenges she faces in the marketplace of the future.

Mehler and Crispin's continuing role as the industry's foremost experts on online recruiting ensures that the CareerXroads guide will continue to serve as an invaluable resource to both recruiters and job seekers. Their directory can be ordered via the Website at http://www.careerxroads.com or by mailing your order to: MMC Group, PO Box 253, Kendall Park, NJ 08824.
