Introduction to Recruiter Magazine On-line

  Spotlight Time for Recruiters

On behalf of Recruiter Magazine On-line and Recruiter.com, it's my pleasure to welcome you to the premiere issue. I would like to take a moment to introduce our company's mission and tell you how Recruiter Magazine On-line and Recruiter.com reflect that mission.

The recruiting industry has grown exponentially over the past decade and is still going strong. Today our dynamic industry consists of the more than 100,000 retained and contingency-based recruiters working at some 25,000 firms. Add to these, 300,000 professionals providing temporary staffing, consulting/IT solutions, and 200,000 internal, contract and human resources recruiting professionals working full time for corporations throughout North America. In addition, there are thousands of employer services providers and enabling vendors, such as on-line recruiting companies, job boards, applicant acquisition and tracking software systems, consulting companies, financial services, productivity solutions…just to name a few.

Our clients, hiring managers, and employees have undergone a transformation, as well. Hundreds of new products and services have been introduced, with the promise of improved productivity, and efficiency. Choosing products, services and strategic partners is more complicated and more important. The need to find single source solutions, vendors, third party and on-staff recruiters who react with urgency, recognize and provide quality candidates and service at competitive cost are on their minds, daily.

The users of our services are more knowledgeable today. "A little knowledge is dangerous". This statement creates new opportunities and challenges. The pressure is on, and growing.

As the Industry evolves, the type and breath of individuals needed to build the corporations, firms and practices is rapidly changing.
The "do it all" players in, firms and HR/corporate organizations are the dinosaurs; Gazelles are entering our industry. These gazelles have created numerous job functions and careers in the "human capital supply chain".

Recruiter Magazine On-line is designed to meet the needs of our industry for timely and incisive analysis of what is happening. Our mission is to be the primary information service provider to professionals participating in the "human capital supply chain."

Recruiter Magazine On-line is not intended for those who are most concerned with finding their next candidate or job order. Those individuals might not survive the next couple of months. Recruiter.com and Recruiter Magazine On-line were created to enlighten and celebrate employer services professionals, committed to improve the economy, their corporations, their clients, their firms, their families and themselves. From the inside, out!

The premier issue feature, "the Top 100 Most Influential People in the Recruiting Industry", presents our key messages in a subliminal fashion.
Our first key message is to illuminate convergence; in work habits, use of tools, services, products, and the common missions of all professionals who participate in the human capital supply chain.
The second key message is to highlight the six success factors; Collaboration, Value Creation, Objectivity, Accountability, Competition and Measurement.

And don't forget; while Recruiter Magazine On-line is bi-monthly, you can keep track of the latest industry news, trends, and events at www.recruiter.com, "The daily destination for all recruiters".

I hope both Recruiter Magazine On-line and Recruiter.com invigorate and inform your recruiting practices. I look forward to receiving your feedback and ideas.

Cheers,
Arthur
