Amazon to Hire 7,000 Workers

White JOBS word Mega online retailer Amazon announced plans to hire 7,000 workers for the company’s U.S. locations. CNN Money reported that, according to Amazon, most of the jobs will offer pay and benefits far above typical retail wages.

According to the article, 5,000 of the positions are for warehouse jobs and will pay 30 percent more than jobs in traditional retail stores. These jobs are full-time permanent positions that include stock grants. Over the last five years, the grants have averaged 9 percent of pay for the company’s full-time workers. Another benefit Amazon said it’s offering workers, according to the article, is eligibility for 95 percent college tuition reimbursement, regardless if an employee’s field of study is related to his/her job.

Amazon is also planning to hire 2,000 customer service workers in full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

  • San Bernardino, Calif.
  • Indianapolis
  • Jeffersonville, Ind.
  • Hebron, Ky.
  • Breinigsville, Pa.
  • And the states of Oregon and Washington
