flipping magazine page Staffing services provider Kavaliro wants to help your company prepare for the fast-approaching Affordable Care Act. And to do so, it recently released updates to its whitepaper, “The New Definition of a Full-time Employee Under the Affordable Care Act and What It Means to Your Business.”

We’ve all read news stories and have heard the buzz surrounding employers and healthcare, but Kavaliro aims to break down exactly how the ACA affects businesses.

The paper says that “as of 2015, it is required that all employers with 100 or more full-time employees (taking into account full-time equivalent employees, or FTEs) be offered medical coverage. Employers with 50 – 99 full-time employees will have an additional year, until 2016, to comply with the employer mandate requirement. These new requirements are causing employers to ask many questions: Why is this of such concern for many business owners? Why are many businesses considering reducing part-time employees’ hours to less than 30?”

Topics covered in the new whitepaper include:

  • Qualifying for the Employer Mandate
  • Measurement Periods
  • Penalties for not Offering Affordable Coverage
  • Reducing Part-Time Hours
  • Strategies to Prepare
