Recruiting by the Numbers Infographic section Attention, all recruiters! Are you always searching for the most recent and helpful data when it comes to the recruiting industry? Want to stay ahead of the curve and be in the know? Well, the folks at RecruiterBox, provider of online recruiter and resume management software, have come up with a way to help you do just that. The company recently released an infographic, “Recruiting by the Numbers,” that pulled together data from 500 U.S. companies to offer you some very important numbers in recruiting.

The data, based off the 2013 Work Trends Survey of 500 Companies, is categorized in six major areas of the recruitment industry. So, just what do you need to know?

1. Applicants vs. Hires

According to the infographic, it takes around 50 complete applications to obtain just one solid hire. To combat this, RecruiterBox advises you to find a great system, start reading and realize the tough road ahead.

2. Hiring Process

Did you know there are about 4-5 steps in the hiring process? Be sure both you and candidates are aware of this timetable for placing an applicant/landing a job for success.

3. Common Source

Job advertisement aggregators—like Indeed and Simply Hired—are the most common source of applicants.

4. Best and Worst

What are the best and worst sources for U.S. jobs?

Best: candidates who applied on career pages

Worst: candidates who uploaded from prior databases

5. Interviews per Role

The number of times an applicant will need to interview depends on the role. For example, lower level roles, such as junior roles, may require one to two interviews. Senior level roles, on the other hand, may require four to five interviews.

6. Non-tech Hiring

Non-tech hiring is on the rise, most apparent in retail.
