newspaper rollThe Society of Women Engineers (SWE) recently released an eBook, Be that Engineer: Inspiration and Insight from Accomplished Women Engineers. The new eBook is a collection of stories and advice offered from SWE’s Corporate Partnership Council (CPC), a group of 30 women leaders from various backgrounds who have worked in numerous engineering fields.

The SWE says the personal histories of each woman from the CPC give the new eBook a wide purview, providing guidance and direction that illuminates the reality and challenge of being a modern woman working in the engineering world.

“We worked with some of the most fascinating, hard-working, insightful and experienced engineers I’ve ever known to develop this eBook,” Karen Horting, SWE’s executive director and CEO, said. “There’s an inspirational power in their words, a sense of strength and perseverance that really shines through in their stories. I found their advice invaluable, and I know our members and the public at large will too.

This new eBook is the latest release in a series of eBooks developed by SWE, with the previous, Work & Life Integration Playbook, exploring the delicate balance between leading a fulfilling personal life and pursuing a rewarding career.

Both books are available now in PDF formats at swe.org/e-book-download. Be that Engineer will soon be available for download on Kindle, iBooks and on-demand printing.
