Motion picture projectionists are charged with the responsibility of operating and setting up motion picture projection equipment as well as other sound projection equipment. They are detail-oriented individuals who are able to successfully thread film into magazine reels, ensure sound quality and image clarity, splice film reels and perform regular equipment maintenance. Additionally, they must be able to remove film reels after a showing and properly package the equipment for shipment. They must have an extensive working knowledge of projection equipment such as bulbs, lenses and electrical connectors in order to perform this job successfully. A high school diploma is required for employment in this field.
