SmartRecruiters LogoSmartRecruiters, the free social recruiting platform, marked its two-year anniversary Monday by announcing its latest product release, which will help the company continue to live up to its motto of “making hiring easy.”

The new version of the popular recruiting software addresses the issues that job seekers and job creators face in today’s hiring process. It includes two key features designed to improve the hiring process: HireLoop is a social feed that enables collaborative hiring through graph technology, while 1-Click-Apply is a simplified candidate experience, which captures the best candidates.

“Our goal as a company is to make it easy for employers to create jobs and ultimately eradicate unemployment,” said SmartRecruiters Founder and CEO Jerome Ternynck. “A hundred thousand jobs are not enough to end unemployment, but that’s 100,000 jobs and therefore 100,000 people who are able to find their job faster and easier thanks to our efforts. This means a lot to us.”

SmartRecruiters also released an interesting survey on Monday detailing the experiences of both job seekers and job creators. According to the survey, 52 percent of employers give up when seeking the right candidate because they find the hiring process so difficult. Other survey findings included:

  • Finding the right candidate takes too long
  • Employers settle for good enough
  • Most people are unhappy with hiring
  • Inefficient hiring impacts more than HR
  • Candidates give up before applying
  • Candidates expect a more mobile, more social experience

Debbie Fields is the director of HR and Enterprise Development at Boulder Imaging. She and her company, which makes technical video equipment, use SmartRecruiters.

In addition, we’ve gone from a heavily manual process of managing recruiting efforts to a more automated one, saving us untold hours of work.”

SmartRecruiters has gained more than 20,000 customers since launching the beta version of its recruiting software in February 2011. Less than two years later, those 20,000 businesses have created 100,000 jobs through the platform. The cloud-based tool is free for all organizations.
