glassdoor iphone app logo Jobs and career community site Glassdoor recently released a new update for its Glassdoor iPhone® app. The app includes Job Feed, a mobile personalized job search tool, which automatically offers job seekers the most recent and relevant open jobs. Paired with employee-based workplace insights, Glassdoor says that “no other jobs app offers this level of insight into hiring companies’ open jobs, company culture, pay and benefits packages, and work environment.”

By using the app, job seekers have the ability to access millions of job listings from a range of companies, both large and small and ranging and from privately owned to publicly traded.

The updates to the app include:

Job Feed

  • Customized stream of the latest job listings based on a job seeker’s saved job search preferences Shows job listings in reverse chronological order
  • Highlights new jobs since user’s last visit, indicating previously viewed jobs
  • Daily push notifications option, which alert job seekers to the latest openings that fit their interests
  • Ability to save multiple, personalized Job Feeds using job title and location search criteria.
  • Save jobs to apply for later and share jobs via email

JobScope

  • “Company Info” button offers employer-specific information under each job listing
  • Employee-provided salary reports and company reviews, job descriptions, and basic company information—like headquarter location and number of employees— within the Company Info page or “JobScope”

Complementary iOS 7 design

  • Cleaner, flatter, modern design for iOS 7, helping to simplify the job search process

“As more job seekers turn to mobile devices to find jobs and research companies, transparency continues to be key to finding the job you love,” said Tim Besse, Glassdoor SVP of product and chief marketing officer. “Pairing Glassdoor Job Feed with the insights real employees share about the company they work for and how much they earn gives the mobile job seeker an edge.”
