HRO Today Forum’s Workforce Congress to Focus on Global Job Growth and Workforce Policy

The sixth annual HRO Today Forum, held in Washington, D.C. from April 30 through May 2, is calling on HR leaders to collaborate to create new solutions to address the problems plaguing the global workforce. The Forum will bring together leaders in HR, recruitment, technology, and government to take a hard look at the challenges facing HR today. The Forum’s main themes this year include job creation, global HR, and innovation.

Themed events such as the Big Idea Lightening Round and iTalent competition will bring HR professionals and senior executive together to share their solutions and head pitches from innovative companies. The Workforce Congress, focusing on creating jobs, will present participants with economic issues to be analyzed in-depth. An invitation-only meeting will then be set to develop approaches for solving the challenges put forth in the Congress. Attendees will include HR officers, policy makers, non-profit industry leaders, and non-governmental agency heads.

The Forum will also present a set of discussions aimed at addressing the depletion of the American workforce and how the employment of veterans may be an opportunity to ease this growing strain. Topics will include how to go about hiring vets and methods for training the many vets who lack the jobs skills to be productive in the workplace.

Keynote speakers at the Forum include: Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier, Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education at the U.S. Department of Education; Daniel Griswold, President of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones; Brink Lindsey, Senior Scholar in Research and Policy at the Kauffman Foundation; and James Quigley, CEO Emeritus of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited and Senior Partner at Deloitte LLP.
