finger touching virtual screenNewton, a provider of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and hiring solutions for small and medium sized businesses, has announced the release of a responsive version of its platform, usable on any smartphone, tablet, and Internet browser. Newton utilizes web technologies, such as HTML5, and is completely optimized for mobile use. The mobile version is offered as a free upgrade to existing customers. Though currently in beta with a limited release, the full version will be released within the next several weeks as an upgrade for all users.

Newton’s responsive product scales to its environment, juxtaposing data based on screen size, using every available pixel to offer the user the best visual experience. The new version is also future proof and ready for devices and software environments not currently released. With its upgrade to HTML5, Newton will release additional functionality every two months, at maximum, for the remainder of 2014. Enhancements will focus on solving recruitment inefficiencies, compliance challenges, and workflow issues faced by small and medium sized businesses.

“Re-architecting Newton in HTML5 to be responsive has not been easy. We’ve spent more time on this redesign than on any release in Newton’s short history. This is an exciting time. Now that Newton has the most modern platform in the industry, we have already shifted our resources and we’re developing new functionality that will offer our customers more customization options and new tools that address the problems that matter most in corporate recruiting,” Joel Passen, marketing head and cofounder of Newton, said.
