TalentBin Releases Lookup People Search App for iPhone

TalentBin recently released Lookup, a free people search app for iPhone. The new application allows TalentBin consumers and business users to instantly look up and review publicly available online information about friends, colleagues and business contacts in a single and manageable social profile. Lookup users are able to discover more information not only about those they interact with daily, but users can also learn about the professional and social interests of new contacts. All this is based on timely and relevant activity across social networks and online communities.

“If you think about what makes up the sum total of a candidate,” said Pete Kazanjy, co-founder of TalentBin, “It’s not just a résumé, or a LinkedIn profile. It’s more than that. And those other pieces of that candidate show up other places around the web. Lookup offers an intuitive interface; the mobile app combines a contact’s professional and social interests, schooling and resume. All this information is gathered from the individual’s online posts and public profiles, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Quora, Meetup, and the US Patent Database.

“Mobile recruiting is really all the rage right now,” said Kazanjy. “The question is, what do recruiters need to do when they’re mobile? While I’m not convinced that recruiters are going to be sourcing that next awesome candidate from their iPhone, on the bus or train, I do think the ability for recruiters and hiring managers to quickly look up someone they met at a networking event, or right before they walk into a meeting is really useful. And that’s what we’re shooting for with Lookup.”
