social recruting index The Social Recruiting Index from Gozaik, a social recruiting solutions provider, has uncovered a trend of businesses choosing to discover and engage talent through Twitter over competitors such as LinkedIn. The Index indicates that Twitter will outpace other social media channels in 2014 as a variety of industries flock to the provider. Highlights from the report, which were collected through a proprietary analytics methodology producing real-time insights from each Twitter job post, include:

• Twitter is host to over 500,000 social job announcements per month.

• Over 15 jobs are posted to Twitter per minute.

• Average jobs on Twitter has increased by 32 percent within the past six months.

• Job announcements on Twitter are expected to exceed 2 million per month by the end of 2014.

• The top positions posted on Twitter include IT and sales, which comprise about 25 percent of all posts, and medical/dental roles, which make up about 15 percent of posted positions.

“I feel we are often looking in the wrong place to get an accurate portrayal of the job market. In fact, they are creating a perception that it is worse than it actually is,” said Joe Budzienski, co-founder of Gozaik. “Millions of enterprises are demonstrating that they are still hiring, but are opting to recruit on Twitter as it is cost effective. In addition, businesses leveraging Gozaik are realizing the benefits of more targeted tweets, which garner more results.”
