Today’s Question: Let’s say you can hire anyone you want, for free. Who do you hire, and why?

1. Someone With a Complementary Skill Set
I would hire a person that has the same motivation, attention to detail, dedication to customer service, authenticity, and follow-through that I do – with a twist! This person would complement other skill sets that are not my strongest. Having a bigger vision and higher goals would create a winning combination.
I would love to hire the founders of companies similar to Kuli Kuli that were able to grow into thriving multimillion-dollar health food businesses. I would love to have them on our team so that we could learn directly from their successes and failures.
At the age of 31, Sam Altman, president of Y Combinator, has a resume of success that most people could only dream of attaining after multiple lifetimes. His ability to evaluate up-and-coming technologies and companies is second to none. I have always believed in hiring people smarter than myself, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone smarter or harder working than Sam Altman.
I would hire the best PR guru in the U.S. I had no idea how important PR was until I was about two years in with my company and found that traditional marketing was no longer getting me the ROI it originally had.
I love spending as much individual time with my students and clients as possible; however, I’m learning that as my business expands, this is going to get harder to sustain. Since I’m the “face” of my company, it would be invaluable if I could hire another person who would effectively represent the company as I do.
If I could hire anyone, I would definitely seek out Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. They are the great minds of today, and they have the experience and success to back it up. Having either of them as an adviser to myself and AlignedSigns.com would impart generous amounts of wisdom that could be applied for years to come.
Why wouldn’t I hire Larry Page for free? He would help make up for some of my weaknesses, and maybe he could get us to the top page of Google! I’d also like to learn more about artificial intelligence and imagine possibilities with him
