Email

On the morning of July 5, 2016, shortly before I prepared this article for publication, I spent some time checking my email.

By “some time,” I mean two straight hours.

This is not a rare occurrence. In part, that’s because my inbox somehow seems to triple in occupancy overnight, every night. But it’s also because I just have to know what’s in those email messages. For all I know, the next email – the one I missed because I closed my inbox and moved on to other things – could be the email.

What “the email” is, I don’t know. I just know I can feel it coming. (It’s probably never coming.)

I might be an email addict at this point, but that’s not a good way to be: It cuts into your productivity and it clouds your thoughts for no good reason. Let’s be honest here. When was the last time your inbox really gave you anything good?

If you, like me, want to shake your email addiction, then I suggest checking out this new infographic  from Headway Capital. Not only will it tell you why you’re addicted, but it’ll also give you a few easy ways to kick the habit:
