NewsAccording to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Employment Situation Report, in the past month business employee growth has increased by 48,000, as the unemployment rate remained steady at 9.1 percent.  Since hitting a low spot in September 2009, business careers have grown by 897,000.  This rise in numbers has led to Rasmussen College adding two additional business degree programs for students seeking a Bachelor degree in a short period of time. The two accelerated bachelor degrees include Marketing and Human Resources and Organizational Leadership.  Rasmussen is offering these in an accelerated fashion online called AcceleratED, which can be completed online in an accelerated 18 month program.

Anticipated job growth in the business sector is 22 percent between 2008 and 2018, according to The Bureau of Labor Statistics, which is considerably faster than other occupation averages.  This increase is largely thought to be because of the revision of “occupational safety and health, equal employment opportunity, wages, healthcare, retirement plans, and family leave standards.”  Elsewhere, the Bureau reports that the marketing employment rates will increase by 13 percent through 2018.

Kathy Heldman, director of the School of Business at Rasmussen College, states that, “relevant business education, specialized career training, and professional skills development” will assist career-minded students to be prepared for the workforce and become leaders in the marketplace.

Additional business degree programs in the Associate and Bachelor degree levels are also available at Rasmussen, including Healthcare Management, Business Management, and Accounting.
