These positions may be most relevant to those individuals looking to change careers or simply investigate areas for further skill development. And while elevated salaries aren’t the only considerations when choosing a career path, it can be a major contributor to overall job satisfaction. The jobs on the list of highest salary increases are from a variety of fields and multiple income brackets.

The jobs composing the list of fastest growing salaries in the country include network engineer, staffing manager, and customer account representative, each gaining 7 percent in total yearly compensation. Network engineers earn an average annual salary of $78,000. Job duties include providing technical support in all aspects of data communication systems, including design, installation, and planning services. Staffing managers earn an average of $55,000 per year and typically work to manage the recruitment and staffing departments in an organization. Customer account representatives earn an average annual salary of $25,000 and primarily manage orders from clients, support customers, and act as an information resource on products and order information.

Jobs gaining a 6 percent increase in salary over the year include recruiting coordinator, healthcare recruiter, purchasing supervisor, customer service manager, mortgage loan processor, customer service advisor, operations manager, and top information technology officer. Recruiting coordinators earn an average annual salary of $38,000 and coordinate recruitment efforts that attract and retain talent to meet the needs of an organization. Healthcare recruiters earn an average of $53,000 per year and perform recruitment functions for specialized healthcare jobs.

Purchasing supervisors command an average annual salary of $71,000 and oversee staff members who procure materials, equipment, and other supplies for an organization at the lowest price. A customer service manager, earning an average of $74,000 per year, coordinates an organization’s customer service staff. Mortgage loan processors earn an average of $36,000 per year and perform tasks such as verifying, compiling, and typing loan applications. Customer service advisors earn an average yearly salary of $26,000 and oversee the problem-solving aspect of customer service such as handling complaints, returns, and special orders. Operations managers have an average annual salary of $88,000 and manage one of several levels of operations strategies. Oversight may be at the organizational level down to departmental level. Top information technology officers earn an average of $160,000 per year and oversee the coordination and administration of an organization’s entire technology department.

Salary information was collected by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and issued as part of its Occupational Employment Statistics survey and present salary comparison data collected between 2010 and 2011.
