So what if your office isn’t the chicest place in town – it’s just a workplace, right?

Not exactly. As a new infographic from Pots, Planters & More  outlines, your work environment can have a big impact on your company’s overall performance.

Take desk chairs, for example. The U.S. economy loses $81 billion in productivity due to pain every year – pain that can be caused by old, beaten, uncomfortable desk chairs. And guess what? Replacing old, uncomfortable office furniture can result in a 23 percent increase in productivity.

Another small but powerful factor: office plants. According to the infographic, those who have lots of plants in their workspaces are 36 percent more likely to consider the environment “uplifting” and 85 percent more likely to say the environment helps their productivity.
