meritsharing logoWith recent studies showing employee recognition is infrequent at best, MeritShare is offering its online recognition program to employers for no charge. Alongside this release, the company is also making available the first “heat map ” of employee appreciation and a national recognition index that helps employers measure and track employee engagement.

“Employee and peer recognition is one of the simplest and most powerful tools to make work better, says Travis Pearl, co-founder of MeritShare. “By giving more people the power to recognize, you can build a stronger and more engaged work culture. Our heat map is a motivating data visualization of the goodwill employees are creating, and our new data analytics and scoring components allow companies to understand their employee engagement based on action and behavior.”

Social commerce company BeachMint is handling the indexing and measurement of engagement metrics for MeritShare allowing employers to use the peer recognition system to encourage engagement, reinforce proper behaviors, and build better teams. Participating in MeritShare’s program simply requires registration with a work email address, which allows users to send emails recognizing the achievements of colleagues. The recipient can then share their award on social media platforms and receives an automatically generated public award page. MeritShare also oversees email engagement campaigns, reminders, and provides a weekly email digest.

“To us, it’s not about being a blue or red state, but making everyone a green state of appreciation,” Pearl says. “We have made it easy, free and available to all, removing all barriers to recognition.”
