Tyrula-LogoA new solution for creating Summary of Benefits and Uniform Coverage (SBC) documents was announced by Tyrula LLC entitled SBC Boxed. SBC Boxed is a complete out-of-the-box solution that helps employers keep their health plans PPACA/HHS compliant. The solution includes SBC Compass, which generates a solution based on employer-specific plan information, SBC Create, which allows users to search and modify plan data before producing SBCs, and SBC Delivery converts SBC files into PDFs, which can then be printed, faxed, emailed, or otherwise shared.

SBC Boxed is aimed at aiding companies struggling to conform to new U.S. Department of Labor rules that require the delivery of SBCs to all participating employees by September 23, 2012. The U.S. DOL will not impose penalties during the first year on insurers who are working in good faith to comply with the new compliance rules. SBC Boxed buoys that good faith effort by clarifying healthcare plan designs, creating a compliant plan and producing and delivering SBC documents quickly.

Manu Uppal, CEO of Tyrula LLC, said, “Following our passion for simplicity we have created a simple way to plan, generate and deliver Summary of Benefits Uniform Coverage documents. It maps a solution from your plan data and enables you to search, review and modify plan data to produce Summary of Benefits Uniform Coverage documents quickly. Basically the puzzle pieces are now a picture.”
