news Monster.com, known for their job board and intelligent resume search  technology, is now offering  to share their powerful 6Sense semantic search technology with the rest of the world. The SaaS-based SeeMore platform will be the first of its kind – a cloud based semantic search and analytics service for managing companies’ own resume and applicant databases, Monster confirmed in a recent press release.

Now companies can utilize a piece of the same advanced technology that Monster uses to identify, assess, and match resumes to open jobs.

“With the introduction of SeeMore(TM), we are transforming recruitment and talent management by taking our state-of-the-art 6Sense semantic search and applying it to resumes beyond Monster,” said Sal Iannuzzi, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Monster Worldwide. “Employers can now assess their company’s talent databases in one central location so everyone can be found easily, regardless of their point of origin. This, paired with the benefits of semantic search and analytics, enables companies to be more precise about their talent matching needs, reduce the time and cost of acquiring and managing talent, and improve the quality of hires.”

SeeMore offers companies an unprecedented level of insight into their own applicant database. The cloud based service promises to reduce the inefficiencies of managing and sorting through talent profiles. “Our philosophy on innovation is simple – we focus on products and solutions that deliver breakthrough technology to address a real market need. SeeMore(TM) is no exception. It solves a complex problem that many employers are facing – not having strategic visibility into their internal and external talent pools because they are using a range of technologies in an increasingly fragmented recruiting environment,” said Darko Dejanovic, EVP, Global CIO and Head of Product for Monster Worldwide.

With the development of cloud based platforms, companies now have the option of delivering their own core competencies as a service to other organizations. Monster’s new development can be seen as part of a broad trend to “productize” and deliver key services of a company to external organizations.

Monster’s key development of resume search technology was previously “stuck” in the silo of the Monster.com resume database. With SeeMore, Monster is delivering that technology as a cloud based service and applying that intelligence to external data sources. The move does not appear to be immediately trans-formative for Monster’s business. However, it does suggest a trend of Monster.com developing its technology and service lines of business, which go beyond its traditional web destination and media business.
