skillrater logoOnline social platform Skillrater.com has launched as a way for users to request work performance ratings and direct reports from a global workforce. The self-described “world’s first rating, networking and feedback tool on a social platform” allows executives, employees, and entrepreneurs to received skill ratings and feedback from other friended members at Skillrater.com. The network is free to join but also offers premium and enterprise memberships for corporations to use the service as an in-house talent management or social networking platform.

Louis Carter, CEO and founder of Best Practice Institute, the creator of Skillrater.com, said, “This is the future of 360-degree assessment and social learning. I want to bring a revolution to 360 so that organizations become more open and transparent, and driven by the desire for employees to request feedback on their competencies/skills and activities they execute on a daily basis.”

Employees using Skillrater are able to participate in conversations and discussion threads focused on improving their work activities while also receiving immediate feedback correcting negative workplace habits. Employees may then continue the feedback process by receiving advice from executive coaches and other team members. Employees can also directly solicit feedback from others to encourage engagement and transparency.
