Survey Reveals Evolving Opinions about Virtual Interviewing Technology

social-network GreenJobInterview’s survey of U.S. employers has found that nearly one-third plan to increase the number of virtual interviews they use as part of recruiting efforts. Additionally, 47 percent of respondents reported that their organizations have already conducted virtual job interviews (not teleconferences) while 45 percent said their organizations have not. About 65 percent of employers who have used virtual interviewing technology rated their experiences as good or excellent, 28 percent reported mediocre experiences, and 7 percent said they had poor or very poor experience. Two-thirds of respondents said their organizations would conduct the same number of virtual interviews over the next year and 30 percent said they plan to moderately or significantly increase their use of virtual interviews.

“As our survey shows, employers continue to embrace virtual interviewing as part of their talent acquisition and hiring strategies,” said Greg Rokos, president of GreenJobInterview. “Undoubtedly, this is due to the host of business benefits virtual interviewing provides including cost savings, reduced time-to-hire, elimination of travel, and improvements in HR’s performance and processes. It will be interesting to see the results of our future surveys and to track changes in employers’ attitudes, utilization rates and results.”

The survey included members of a range of industries, including financial services, health care, manufacturing, education, and government, and the majority of participants worked in HR or recruiting.
