Ready to design a logo for your startup ? Make sure you spend some time carefully thinking about the color scheme.

As it turns out, the colors of a company logo are about more than aesthetic preferences – they provoke emotional and psychological responses in people. It’s in your best interest, then, to choose a color scheme wisely.

Towergate Insurance  recently compiled an infographic  that looks at 26 industries and the color schemes they prefer, as well as the psychological ramifications of those color schemes.

For example, the auto industry seems to gravitate toward silver, which messages quality and luxury. Meanwhile, fashion brands go with black, which suggests sophistication. Pharmaceutical companies like blue because it is associated with “cleanliness and health.”
