Some of the most commonly required e-commerce skills include: customer relationship management (CRM), System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), management consulting, applications management, Oracle E-Business suite, project management, Adobe LifeCycle ES, Microsoft PowerPoint, Oracle Java, and business development.
New York City was the location most frequently seeking e-commerce professionals in July 2012 with over 2,700 job postings in the metro area. Other metropolitan areas with high demand for e-commerce skills include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle. Los Angeles experienced the greatest year-over-year growth in jobs recording a 52 percent rate increase over July 2011. Not surprisingly, the listed areas are also experiencing the most difficult recruiting conditions for candidates. The best markets for these skills were found to be Charleston, West Virginia, Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Des Moines, Iowa.
