BackgroundNow logoA new alias/name matching technology provided by BackgroundNow is looking to replace the oft-used private investigators employed when performing in-depth screenings. BackgroundNow improves upon previous online background checks by allowing search criteria to be more flexible. Typically, online background searches require an exact match between the search term and the sought after results.

BackgroundNow’s innovation comes from the fact that it can trace the identity of individuals regardless of previous name changes due to marriage, divorce, or from identity theft or false aliases. Scott Paxton of BackgroundNow.com said, “This is great news for the background industry as it finally provides businesses and landlords with the ability to accurately screen applicants in minutes rather than days.”

The advanced algorithm used in BackgroundNow’s new name tracing technology checks all possible matches for an applicant for a fraction of the cost of hiring a private investigator and automates the background check process eliminating the need for human oversight.
