Sneak peek

According to a 2018 Glassdoor survey, communication is the single most important ingredient in candidate engagement. When asked “What would constitute a positive job application experience?” 58 percent of job seekers named clear, regular communication the critical factor.

Modern candidate engagement can be defined as mutual exploration. Both parties learn more about each other and come to a shared understanding. Traditional hiring experiences have been built around the recruiter getting the information they need. This leaves the candidates feeling frustrated because they don’t have the information they need in order to make a decision.

Candidates want employers to set clear expectations from the outset. Fifty-three percent of Glassdoor survey participants said a company should be clear about what the process will entail from the start. Forty-five percent of candidates also want the company to clearly explain what the interview process will be like, including how many rounds and with whom the candidate will meet.
