Medical recruiters (also known as physician recruiters or healthcare recruiters) are recruitment specialists who work, specifically, within the healthcare field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), a recruitment specialist, in general, knows and understands the ins and outs of the organization to which they belong, ensuring his or her ability to seek out the proper candidates for job positions.

In essence, the medical recruiter will act as the link between the employer and the potential employee, recruiting the best candidates based upon the explicit needs of the employer.
Duties of a Medical Recruiter
Medical recruiters must conduct thorough interviews in order to gauge the suitability of the candidate for the position. Other duties of the medical recruiter may include:
Reviewing applicants' resume/curriculum vitae
Placing and assigning employees at clinics, hospitals, and other medical facilities
Communicating efficiently with employers and employees ensuring the needs of both are met in a timely and effective manner
Performing background checks on potential employees, as well as checking upon given references, transcripts, and credentials
Negotiating salary, problem-solving, and counseling, therein establishing a rapport with the job candidate
Requirements for a Medical Recruiter
This position relies heavily upon communication, ergo, the medical recruiter must have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to succeed. Further, this position requires that the individual have at least a high school degree, although a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
