Job Description for a Medical Recruiter Medical recruiters (also known as physician recruiters or healthcare recruiters) are recruitment specialists who work, specifically, within the healthcare field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), a recruitment specialist, in general, knows and understands the ins and outs of the organization to which they belong, ensuring his or her ability to seek out the proper candidates for job positions. According to Salary.com, the medical recruiter is primarily responsible for filling job openings with qualified physicians or professional individuals seeking employment in the healthcare industry. In essence, the medical recruiter will act as the link between the employer and the potential employee, recruiting the best candidates based upon the explicit needs of the employer. Duties of a Medical Recruiter Medical recruiters must conduct thorough interviews in order to gauge the suitability of the candidate for the position.
