Likewise, it wouldn’t work to try to have a business free of management because the delegation of tasks and priorities may become confusing (or non-existent, which is problematic).

Roles are important and each worker understanding and executing his/her role is the best way to successfully thrive as a team. But, as I’m sure we’ve all experienced, there are always a select few individuals who desire to step outside of their lanes and put on “hats” they don’t have the authority and/or skills to wear.

Luckily, the folks at ZipRecruiter have come up with a solution for this problem—at least in the recruitment world.

The online job distribution service recently introduced its advanced user roles feature, which helps companies monitor who has access to what on their ZipRecruiter accounts.

Under the new feature, each user of a company’s hiring team can fall into one of two roles:

1. Account Owner—this role has full account privileges

2. Restricted Access—this role restricts users from doing one or more of the following:

  • Add/Edit Users, which includes creating new users and adjusting the settings of existing users
  • Manage Account Subscription, which includes modifying the credit card on file, viewing receipts, and changing or canceling the company subscription
  • Purchase Add-On Service, which includes buying premium add-ons, e.g. Monster postings, TrafficBoost

Get started using the advanced user role feature today by logging into your ZipRecruiter account, going to the “Account” tab, and selecting “Users” from the drop-down menu.
