The role of tutors is to assist in the instruction and education of students outside of the classroom setting. They design individual educational plans (IEPs) to meet student goals, create lesson plans, assignments, and exams to monitor progress, and teach students skills for use in classrooms, including note-taking skills, study skills and test-taking skills. Tutors may collaborate with school officials, teachers, and parents in determining student needs and assessing progress. They may work one-on-one with students, or in small groups.
